The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom may be set to receive a limited edition Nintendo Switch OLED model when it launches in May. Images of a new Switch model themed Tears Of The Kingdom have been leaked by a user on Reddit, but have yet to be officially confirmed by Nintendo.
The images show a folded OLED Switch model covered in the colors and symbols of the upcoming Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom. While it looks pretty legit, we recommend taking it with a pinch of salt for now. As we mentioned earlier, Nintendo has yet to confirm a limited edition Switch model, and it’s entirely possible for a fan to emulate the design with a little hard work and creativity.
Nintendo officially announced the highly anticipated Zelda game during a Direct Showcase earlier this year. Announcing that the next Zelda game is called ‘The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom’, fans will be able to get the Breath Of The Wild sequel when it launches for Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023.
In other Zelda news, in preparation for its May release, Tears Of The Kingdom was recently rated by the ESRB, confirming that the game is now officially rated in North America. Not surprisingly, Tears Of The Kingdom received a “Everyone 10+” rating, like its predecessor Breath Of The Wild.
While it seems increasingly likely that Tears Of The Kingdom will launch on its planned release date of May 12, the sequel has yet to officially win a gold medal. But unsurprisingly, The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom won the ‘Most Anticipated Game’ award at the 2022 Game of the Year Awards.
The event took place on December 9 and revealed some important announcements. Tears Of The Kingdom not only received the most anticipated award, but FromSoftware’s Elden Ring also won the coveted game of the year, making it the second FromSoftware title to win the award.
